Diamond Oaks Vineyards - Wonderful in October

This weekend was a birthday part for serveral of my Brazilian friends, and they decided to charter a bus up to Diamond Oaks Vineyards.  I tried a few of their wines, and they were nice--particularly the Cabernet. However, I myself am a Pinot Noir type of guy, and for my tastes I found their Pinot a bit dry (although that does not mean I left without a bottle). You could almost feel some carbonation as if it was an Italian Fresh Wine.  However, as far as destinations go, it now has to be one of my favourites in the North Bay.

The place is perched atop a large hill and has a picnic/bocci ball area that is surrounded by stunning views of the rolling, vine-clad hills.  To add the this, the whole place is in a shady grove, so you get the shade and the scenery at the same time. The staff are courteous, and the $10 wine tasting fee gets you to taste 4 of their wines. I'd absolutely recommend this place for those who want to spend a nice afternoon picnic in Wine Country, as well as those who want a great photo opp-particularly in the fall, when the colours of the vines are changing.
